![]() I plan to test this more with a higher level character and with different combinations of feats, but it's very interesting to me that at least from these preliminary results, dual light crossbows look to be significantly better than dual heavy. ![]() I then repeated the dual light and heavy test with 500 bolts and the results stayed about the same: Type Bolts Seconds Bolts/Second What I found is that single Light and Heavy crossbows had approximately the same rate of fire (with a slight margin of error for my stopwatch), and so did light and heavy repeaters, but dual light crossbows fire significantly faster than dual heavy crossbows - about 9% faster. I tested rate of fire for 300 bolts out of each layout on a level 4 fighter with Rapid Shot, Rapid Reload, Point Blank Shot, and the proficiency feats for the repeaters. I plan to do more testing but wanted to see if anyone else had noticed anything similar. I did some testing of rate of fire with single, dual, and repeating light and heavy crossbows and my initial findings surprised me somewhat. It might take up to 24 hours to be reviewed. R4 to R8 dungeons (nobody plays R9 really): Longbow, Dual xbows (Inquis), Repeaters and Throwers (shuriken/dagger) will be your top contenders.
